Fantastic views of the ceramics town of Gmunden, Lake Traunsee and the surrounding region - this is what you can enjoy during the gondola ride on the Grünberg cable car and up to 1,004 metres above Gmunden.

From March to November, the barrier-free Grünberg cable car runs daily to Gmunden's local mountain, where nature lovers and adventurers alike can enjoy themselves to the full.

Whether discovering the treetop walk Salzkammergut, a wild ride on the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run, a group roast dinner (Bratlessen) or a hike to the lake Laudachsee. The Grünberg offers many possibilities and unique perspectives high above the forest floor!

At 1,004 metres above Lake Traunsee on the Grünberg, you can expect not only a great range of leisure activities, but also an idyllic nature reserve.

On the Grünberg, you can not only enjoy a breathtaking view, but also get active on one of the many hiking routes. The Grünberg Panorama Trail towards lake Laudachsee is particularly popular, where you can get to the bottom of the legend of the 7-Brünnlein.

The treetop walk Salzkammergut, including its 75 metre long tunnel slide and 39 metre high observation tower, offers unimagined views of Lake Traunsee, the ceramics town of Gmunden and the Salzkammergut region. A ride on the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run gets the adrenaline pumping and the adventure playground and low ropes course invite you to explore.

Have you heard about the new adventure trail Grünberg friends? The friends Ferdl Fuchs, Emil Eichhorn, Sigi Esel, Rudi Maus and Betty Bär need your help to save the Grünberg.

The new adventure trail on the Grünberg leads from the mountain station around the summit to the lake Laudachsee. Interactive audio stations tell the story of the gang and provide clues to help you solve the riddles.

Pick up your riddle pass, including a mini pencil, at the ticket office. If you solve all the riddles correctly, a small gift from JOLLY awaits you at the mountain station of the Grünberg cable car.

Award "Best Austrian Summer Cable Cars"

The Grünberg cable car with its offer on the mountain was certified by fulfilling 160 quality criteria and was particularly convincing in the category "Family Mountain". Innovative offers such as the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run, the treetop walk Salzkammergut and the adventure playground with the low ropes course are key factors for the Austria-wide award.

Photovoltaic system

At the end of 2021, Grünberg cable car began installing a photovoltaic system on the roofs of the cable car station. In May 2023, the photovoltaic system was expanded and the roof of the entrance to the summer toboggan run was also equipped with it. A total of 90 modules were installed. With a further 38 kilowatt peak, the total with the cable car stations on Grünberg is now 70 kilowatt peak!
